Information:

For those of you who are Protestants or Church of England, We Do Weddings by A&J is happy to confirm an English Speaking Minister or a Pastor to celebrate the ceremony at a private venue or at a church/ chapel. Some Pastors only speak Italian and in this case an assitant/interpeter translates the service during the ceremony.

There are not many Protestant Churches available in Italy, therefore the choice is limited to chapels located on venues' premises and churches which belong to Protestantism.

The beauty of the Protestant wedding is that it can also take place at the open-air, therefore you can hold your wedding ceremony at the same venue you are having  your wedding reception without having to worry about transferring everyone from a place to another, and knowing that your union will be blessed by a Minister/ Pastor.

Ministers and Pastors usually requires that either the bride or the groom belong to Church of England or a Protestant Church and that they have received Baptism. Some Ministers require more religious paperwork however we are able to advise you each time.

There are some locations in Italy where a Protestant Wedding ceremony can be  legally binding. This option is very limited and cannot be guaranteed as it is subject to the Minister/ Pastor's availability and to local rules and regulations. There are other locations where the legal ceremony must take place at the local town hall a day or two  before the religious service  or the Pastor/ Minister will not celebrate your wedding.

Legal requirements:

Legal requirements are the same as town hall weddings

Church requirements:

.Either the bride or the groom must be Protestant or Church of England and must have received Baptism. there may be other religious paperwork required and you may need assitance from your Minister.

.Your Minister may asks you to do a marriage course..

.The order of service may be provided by the Italian based Minister/ Pastor and cannot be changed as you wish. Remember that this is a sacred union and unless the pastor/ minister agrees to make some changes, changes are not usually possible.

.Generally only Holy music is allowed

.Flowers are allowed, however some churches may require that these are left as a donation.

.One photographer and assistant and one Videopgrapher are usually allowed at the ceremony area.

.Bride and Bridesmaids should have their shoulder covered during the ceremony.

.Communion and Offertory do not take place during the service.

.A donation to the Pastor /Minister is usually given after the wedding ceremony.

Weddings at private venues:

. For weddings at private venues there is more flexibility with the set up of the ceremony area. Please bear in mind that you will need to consider the extra cost to set up the ceremony area and unless this is included in our wedding package, it will be quoted extra.

Prices:

.Each Church has a cost which is applied for the use of the church and administration work.

.There is also a cost to apply to have an English speaking Minister/ Pastor

.If the wedding is taking place at a private venue, the church cost does not apply, however you will need to consider the cost to use the venue  and to set up the ceremony area.

.We Do Weddings by A&J is able to provide the whole wedding package

Bookings:

.We usually recommend that you give yourself at least 6 to 12 months time when you book a church wedding, and this is because of the paperwork  procedure. We accept bookings provided that the bride and groom give us a minimum of 6 months notice. Couples wanting to get married in one or   two months time will not be assisted unless their paperwork is ready to be sent to Italy.
